Three games into the preseason, the Utah Mammoth are still searching for their first win. SLC Puck host Austin Facer jokes that maybe the team should revert back its old Utah Hockey Club branding just to shake the bad vibes. Still, he stresses there’s little reason to panic because preseason is as much about experimenting as it is about results. For example, Facer believes Utah’s coaching staff should be testing ways to preserve star defenseman Mikhail Sergachev’s legs, possibly by giving Sean Durzi a bigger role on the power play.
For fans, though, the real highlight came Wednesday with the long-awaited announcement that official Mammoth jerseys hit stores on Oct. 2. Facer warns you’ll need to get in line early—right behind him and his family—if you want to snag one of the first Utah sweaters off the rack.
