Hey guys and gals — welcome to a brand-new content series on SLC Puck: Austin’s Power Play Parlay.
As you probably already know, I’m always right about everything. Now I’m putting that superior hockey intellect to work so you can (hopefully, maybe, no promises) benefit from it financially.
Sports betting might be illegal in Utah, but Daily Fantasy Sports isn’t. So we’re gonna have some fun and make things spicy with a few Prize Picks slips featuring our own Utah Mammoth.
And on nights when the Mammoth share the spotlight with the Jazz, I’ll even throw in a bonus pick from the hardwood — a little two-sport chaos for your evenings.
So without further ado, here’s Austin’s Power Play Parlay for tonight’s matchup between the Utah Mammoth and the Buffalo Sabres — aka The DoanHer Super Bowl:
Why these picks? It’s simple really.
Keller and Cooley have been playing on Utah’s top line together lately. With the team in a slump and badly needing a dub, expect the Mammoth’s top unit to be especially motivated to put the team back in the win column. A Keller goal could easily be assisted by Cooley, or vice versa, giving us two easy greens.
Lest we forget, former Utah Hockey Clubber Josh Doan is going to have some extra jump in his stride. Two shots on goal feels like the bare minimum. And of course, Buffalo’s best player, Tage Thompson, is sure to make use of his bazooka of a shot in multiple tries against Utah’s net.
This feels like a slip you can take to the bank. We’ll see how it goes.
