ANOTHER ONE! SLC Puck Watch Party this Sunday at A Bar Named Sue
SLC Puck in your inbox! Issue #9 - Thursday, 3/27/25
Hey Puckers,
First of all, big thanks to everyone who came to the first-ever SLC Puck Watch Party at Bricks Corner in SLC. It was a great time with some terrific food, prizes and — unfortunately — a bad game for the Utah Hockey Club, falling 5-1 to the Detroit Red Wings.
Utah will play a couple of big games in Florida, beginning tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning and then Friday against the defending champion Florida Panthers. The Club will finish the road trip with a stop in Chicago to face the Blackhawks on Sunday. We’ll be watching that game from A Bar Named Sue on Highland Drive in Millcreek. Come hang out, have some great food and win some dope-ass prizes. It’ll be a good time — and hopefully Utah HC can pull off a much-needed win.
See you there!

Playoff Standings:
Recent Results:
🏒 Monday, March 24: vs. Detroit Red Wings ❌ L, 5-1
Upcoming Games:
🏒 Thursday, March 27: at Tampa Bay Lightning
🏒 Friday, March 28: at Florida Panthers
🏒 Sunday, March 30: at Chicago Blackhawks
Player of the Week: Stop me if you’ve heard this before…Dylan Guenther scored a power play goal on a one-timer from the faceoff dot. That goal against Detroit on Monday was Utah’s only score of the game.
Quick Take: There is practically zero margin for error now. Goaltender Karel Vejmelka has made 14 straight starts, the most in the NHL this season. He’s tired. Yet, he’ll probably make his 15th straight against Tampa Bay.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens against Florida.
By my math, Utah needs 94 points to have a chance at the playoffs. With 75 points now and 22 points up for grabs (11 games remaining), the Club can only afford to lose one more game in regulation before their playoff dreams are dead. Crunch time.
