In what was as close to a “must win” as you’ll see in early November, Utah head coach Andre Tourigny delivered his sharpest performance of the season. The Mammoth took down the Buffalo Sabres 5–2 on Wednesday night, a result that looked unlikely after a sluggish first period.
Tourigny made key adjustments at intermission, and Utah responded by ripping off five unanswered goals, including four in the third period, to flip the game on its head and snap a three-game losing streak.
SLC Puck host Austin Facer believes a loss might have put Tourigny on the hot seat. Instead, Utah clawed out the win, but the Mammoth still face a brutal stretch ahead, and the margin for error remains razor-thin.
